Basic Information

Tendo, known as the “town of shogi” (Japanese chess), is also a well-known hot spring resort town. This inn is popular for its attentive hospitality and cuisine. Nearby is the Hiroshige Museum of Art, which displays works by Utagawa Hiroshige, an artist with ties to Tendo. You can also take in sweeping panoramic views from Yamadera, one of Yamagata’s most popular sightseeing spots.
