Hirayu Campground

Basic Information

Hirayu Campground is a spacious campsite set in the pristine wilderness of Okuhida, at an elevation of 1,300 meters. It can accommodate around 200 RVs, and also offers clean wooden bungalows and permanent tents for guests not traveling by camper van. Facilities where you can enjoy the renowned Hirayu Onsen hot spring are scattered throughout the surrounding area, so it’s a great choice for hot-spring lovers as well. The campground is within easy reach of nature-rich sightseeing spots such as the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go and Kamikochi, often called the “Switzerland of Japan,” so you can spend your time at a relaxed pace. In the old streets of Hida-Takayama, the lively Takayama Festival is held twice a year.
